Brewdog time!!
Those crazy beer punks eh? It’s all hops, hops, hops!! Well yes and no, brewdog have built a massive portfolio over the years which is possibly more diverse than most breweries, and they’ve only been going for 5 years! We were one of the first places in the world to sell Brewdog beers and we’ve done countless launch nights for some great great beers. Manager Matt Gorecki even brewed a beer in honour of his wife for their wedding day – the internationally successful Alice Porter!
This time long time North staff legend Jim Thackray had the job of accompanying Matt on a mad mission up to Frazerburgh to brew a beer. They settled on a Belgian pale ale, plenty of hops went in but the idea was to produce a balanced easy drinking ale with a big Belgian yeast presence. This called for a bunch of Saaz hops and the magical aroma hop used in Punk IPA – Ahtanum!
We made sure everything was in it’s right place for this beer and so that’s what we called it! It’s a lovely soft, fresh but still heady beer!
